Yes tragedy! But fret not, the feeling hasn't gone and I can go on, however my little mini computer, which I have been writing all of my blogs on, ended up being left by mistake on a bus through Honduras after an unexpected late night change in the middle of nowhere. This also resulted in me losing the 3 blogs I had already written and was planning to post soon.
These will be rewritten but the blog process will undoubtedly be more delayed that previously before.

I´m in San Cristobal, Mexico, at the mo, vaguely headed towards the Bay Islands of Honduras - arriving roughly 9th November - via Palenque (Mexico) and Tikal (Guatemala). What do you reckon are the chances of our paths crossing?

I'm in Antigua, Guatemala, you shouldn't miss it, it's brilliant! We're staying here until the 5th because it's a bit more advanced and will have 24/7 coverage of the US election tomorrow. Will then be heading up to Tikal ourselves, although not sure how directly.

Been there done that! Make sure you climb Volcan Pacaya. And the Pena de Sol Latino is good for dinner.
I´m still in San Cristobal - my travelling companion is busy doing the tijuana cha-cha, if you see what I mean. As soon as she recovers, we´ll be on our way again.
Lake Atitlan is worth a visit - we got a $6 shuttle from Antigua which didn´t seem to be too much more than the combination of chicken buses would have cost. It did go through alleged bandit country but I think that´s because there were road works on the main highway. We didn´t have any trouble.
And if you´re feeling flush and want to treat your lady friend, check out La Casa Del Mundo on Lake Atitlan. $30/night with shared bathroom, $60 with private. And remember - the hot tub takes 8 hours to heat up so book in advance!
